we are the crowd, we're c-coming out
got my flash on it's true, need that picture of you
it's so magical, we'd be so fantastico
leather and jeans, garage glamorous
not sure what it means but this photo of us
it don't have a price, ready for those flashing lights
'cause you know that baby I

I'm your biggest fan
I'll follow you until you love me, papa-paparazzi
baby, there's no other superstar
you know that I'll be your papa-paparazzi
promise I'll be kind, but I won't stop until that boy is mine
baby you'll be famous, chase you down until you love me
papa-paparazzi

I'll be your girl backstage at your show
velvet ropes and guitars, yeah 'cause you're my rockstar
in between the sets, eyeliner and cigarettes
shadow is burnt, yellow dance and we turn
my lashes are dry, purple teardrops I cry
it don't have a price, loving you is cherry pie
'cause you know that baby I

I'm your biggest fan
I'll follow you until you love me, papa-paparazzi
baby there's no other superstar
you know that I'll be your papa-paparazzi
promise I'll be kind but I won't stop until that boy is mine
baby you'll be famous, chase you down until you love me
papa-paparazzi

real good, we dance in the studio
snap snap, to that shit on the radio
don't stop for anyone
we're plastic but we still have fun

I'm your biggest fan
I'll follow you until you love me, papa-paparazzi
baby there's no other superstar
you know that I'll be your papa-paparazzi
promise I'll be kind but I won't stop until that boy is mine
baby you'll be famous, chase you down until you love me

Katy Perry - Hot N Cold Lyrics

Title Hot N Cold
Artist Katy Perry
Album One Of The Boys (2008) ,  Track 7
Genre Pop, Rock

You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes
Yeah you, PMS
Like a bitch
I would know

And you always think
Always speak
Crypticly

I should know
That you're no good for me

Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up

You, You don't really want to stay, no
You, but you don't really want to go-o
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down

We used to be
Just like twins
So in sync
The same energy
Now's a dead battery
Used to laugh (used to laugh) bout nothing (bout nothing)
Now your plain (now your plain) boring (boring)

I should know (I should know)
that you're not gonna change (change)

Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up

You, You don't really want to stay, no (Whoa)
You, but you don't really want to go-o (Oooh)
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down (Down)

Someone call the doctor
Got a case of a love bi-polar
Stuck on a roller coaster
Can't get off this ride

You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes

Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down
You're wrong when it's right (When it's right)
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up (We make up)

You're hot then you're cold (Ohhhhhhhhhhhh)
You're yes then you're no
You're in and you're out (Oh!)
You're up and you're down (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh)
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white (Oh!)
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up

You, you don't really want to stay, no (Whoa)
You, but you don't really want to go-o (Oooh)
You're hot then you're cold (Cold)
You're yes then you're no (No)
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down (Dooooown)

lucky by jason mraz feat. colbie caillat

I love Jason Mraz!

Lucky by Jason Mraz feat Colbie Caillat

Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Oooohhhhoohhhhohhooohhooohhooohoooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music, fill the air
I put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

look what you've done by jet

For a few years now, I have been out of touch of the hit and miss in the music scene.

But there just a few good songs out there which reached my ears. And I am just a sucker for good music.

I'll post them here so I can listen to them anytime I want.

Look What you've Done by Jet
From: Get Born (2003) ,  Track 4

Take my photo off the wall
If it just won't sing for you
Cause all that's left has gone away
And there's nothing there for you to prove

Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh well, it seems like such fun
Until you lose what you had won
Ooh, ooh

Give me back my point of view
Cause I just can't think for you
I can hardly hear you say
What should I do, well you choose

Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh well, it seems like such fun
Until you lose what you had won
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
A fool of everyone

Take my photo of the wall
If it just won't sing for you
Cause all that's left has gone away
And there's nothing there for you to do

Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh well, it seems like such fun
Until you lose what you had won
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
A fool of everyone

HCM and Jakarta

To think I have never posted anything about this until now..

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
July 31 - August 2, 2009

To date, the best planned vacation I had. Thanks to Visiel who quite frankly took care of everything. We just had to pay her and take pictures with her...haha..:)

Everyday was a booked tour with the local tour agency, which made the city more interesting, fascinating and lovely. So many motorcycles. I think half of the main boulevard is committed to motorcyles.

Pictures. I have so many pictures -- of the city and with friends. I promise I'll create a link direct to a photo-hosting site.

Jakarta, Indonesia
August 8 - 10, 2009

Rafting!! I think we were still tired from our last week's trip that we only planned and scheduled the water rafting through our host (Thank you, Patty!).

This is fun, adventurous and downright -- tiring!! It was a good three hours from the city and it took us about five (5!) hours back due to heavy traffic (tsk, tsk, just like Manila).

Our guide was awesome and friendly. Very helpful and considerate. He tugged the boat many times with us on board when we got stuck by the big boulders (which were many because that time, the water level is low)..He'll just say "Forward!", "Left!", "Right!" and "Stop!". The food was not to my own liking. Because the food in HCM was just fantastic and heaven.

Photos, again, will be upped once technical stuff was set up. I have my trusty 8GB SD, so I think I won't lose much opportunities for picture-taking.

I hope to see these cities again sometime. I love travelling. Btw, I love my LX3. Even my friends rave about it more than ever.

missing my books..

I missed reading books and playing my tin-can-sounding violin..Although I have time in my hands, I do not properly schedule my activities especially when I'm not in the mood..(which is most of the time after work haha)

Because..

I do not have the software to listen properly to the sounds of each violin strings..

I do not have the muter so I can play to my heart's content without disburbing everybody...

When I read, I have to read in solitude..with no one around..No one bothering me, No one talking to me..

I know. I know. I can always find the excuses not to do things, but I choose not to. Just because.

I'll give each one time to flourish and time to finish..One at a time..

blame it on the weatherman

(There are these days when something happened to you that changed the course of history..hehe, or just the mindset.)

For a few weeks now, I get easily affected by people who does not do the right thing -- the obvious right thing just because. When I say affected, it bothers me and I think about why they do such things -- just for me to try to understand where they are coming from. And it seems I can't and also can't help feeling irritated afterwards.

And the words of my pastor came to me, "It puzzles me when others get angry just because others are sinning. It's their nature. They sin."

*smacks my head* True enough, I cannot control other people's decisions but since I get bothered by their's it doesn't place me in the right to sulk and look really affected. I can choose to calm myself down and if there is any opportunity for giving them my two cent's worth on the matter, then by all means I could convey my thoughts and after which I have to let it go. Let it be, in the sense that it does not fuddle my brain and blame it on the other person (Kidding, I don't blame people.)

I have to learn this getting-my-emotions-not-too-fired-up thing one step at a time.

(PS. Blame it on the weatherman is a song by B*witched, now defunct girl pop from the 90's. I'm a 90's baby. ¯The rain goes on..on and on again..¯)

chicken or fish?

Yesterday, we went out for lunch in this resto near the office. It's a Chinese place so my officemate ordered the set meals for us which include a bit of everything -- soup, veggies, fish, chicken, duck, etc.

After the soup and veggies came, this platter of steamed duck, fried meat and jelly was set on the table. We each took a piece of all dishes. And everyone was saying they liked the fried fish  and surprisingly mine was chicken, which I nonchalantly told them. And they said "No, it was fish." I crunched my brows and thought deeply and tasted the meat a second time just to be sure (I might have mentioned chicken when I was actually meaning fish). And this time, with all the conscious effort of tasting to identify which is it really, I said, "No, mine's chicken." And they all retorted back, "Dyan, it's fish."

Ok, that's it. I forked my way inside the fried layer of the meat and looked as dumbfounded that I was, and actually saw the fibers of the meat that was..chicken! Unless, of course, there was a variety of fish to which I haven't seen, tasted or touched, which has chicken-like qualities of the meat fiber . I mean I could tell instantly even without tasting and just by looking whether it was chicken or fish (let's leave it at these two -- mutton, veal, pork -- it's a different case).

And so not to sound really dumb and confused, I just reiterated, "Well, I really think what I got is chicken." To which they just said "Maybe it's a mix of chicken and fish." And I am prepared to let it go. But wait. This is the funny part.

I actually gave a portion of the unidentified  meat to my friend, who I calmly asked to taste it. And this is where I actually jumped from my seat and smacked the table with my hands (in my mind, mind you). She said. " Dyan, it is fish!". Not to appear so disappointed, I let her have all of the meat for a second tasting. "Really..fish." This time, I can't take it anymore and just said, "I really love chicken that's why I know it's chicken." And added a couple of "I think I know my chicken from fish and I really believe it's chicken" (again, in my mind).

I think they all gave up telling me otherwise. And as confident as I believe I'm right, I was so surprised that one can actually believe a tangible thing to be different from what it really is just because others say it was so. And no, I can't have it a go. This is not even the case of right or wrong. IT is a fact of senses and maybe, knowledge (because, for the life of me, in this world maybe there really was a fish that tasted like chicken and vice versa!).

No, we didn't call the waiter to demand to know the truth and tell them I'm right. No. After a few minutes, we were served a piece of another fried meat separately on each saucer. And I was actually smiling in my mind, appearing on my face, when the delicious meat in front of our eyes is, afterall,  fish. I rest my case.

(Just so you know, along with the mixed platter, we were served, on a separate plate, steamed chicken, which nobody argued otherwise.)

run your own race

Many years ago, horsemen invented blinders to keep their horses focused on their work. Blinders are pieces of leather attached to the horse's bridle that prevent them from seeing anything except what's in front of them.

Without blinders, a horse can see almost completely behind itself without turning it's head and can be easily spooked by movement or objects it doesn't recognize. By having fewer distractions the horse is more dependable and stays focused on getting the job done.

As a trader, I always discovered that whenever I started comparing my trading performance with other traders, my performance would usually worsen. This "distraction" cost me lots of money in terms of losses.

While I hardly watch television, I admire Oprah Winfrey so I watched an interview of her on the Biography channel one day. She and the interviewer were discussing her success and she made the comment that comparing herself to other folks in her business always made her take a step backward from her goal. Her words made me realize that even highly successful people experience this.

Don't compare yourself to others. It's tempting in the modern, competitive world to constantly ask, "How am I doing?"

It's easier said than done, but you should NOT allow how well you do compared to others affect how you feel about your inner worth and feelings of success in life.

Comparisons are useless. Run your own race.

Like the sport of golf, you alone are the one who needs to hone your trading skills. You are the one who must find a method that matches your skill level and personality. Comparisons to other traders just make you feel frustrated.

Don't constantly think you are trying to beat others to an imaginary finish line. People who achieve great things work independently and on their own terms.

They don't care how others are doing. They follow their own timeline, follow their own passion, and look INWARD for where to go next.

Notice how I said inward, and not outward. They look inward for where to go next.

How you perform has nothing to do with how others perform. All comparisons will do is torture you. You will feel jealously or envy.

When you see that you are doing relatively poorly compared to a fellow trader, you are likely to think distracting thoughts such as, "Why can't I do as well?" or "I must not be as good of a trader as I had thought."

To maintain motivation, focus on improving your past performance record, rather than looking at how other traders are doing.

You usually don't know what factors created their performance records, so comparisons can only mislead and hinder you. They could just be on a lucky streak or have a market wizard standing right behind them on every trade providing advice.

Put your "blinders" on. Don't look at anyone else's record but your own. Everyone has a different learning curve.

Run your own race.

...

There are times when I can hear the tick tock of my watch as clear as a voice -- on top of the sound of air conditioner on a quiet morning at work.

There are moments when you have an epiphany of peace, of blessing, of assurance that everything -- how trite or raucous your life is -- will work out for the better.

I get this feeling sometimes. I know how melodramatic that sound. But you feel alive in the pure sense of the word -- breathing, living.
